This is the next in series of the Tornado T1 motors from BrotherHobby, this time the 2206 version.

Check out the full list of motors in this series here

Summary

There's not much to say about this Tornado T1 2206 that hasn't already been said about the other motors in the Tornado series.  It has the same composition and build quality, as well as the same 2mm magnets and 0.15mm stator laminations.  Everything is smooth with no play, and the tolerances and airgap are very tight. The 2206 is a bit heavier, weighing in at just below of 32g.

Now on to the bench results!

Test Results

As with the other Tornado T1 motors, performance here is top notch.  The 0.15mm laminations are really giving an edge to this motor, helping it put out some amazing numbers and some very fast response times. It does all this at quite reasonable efficiency as well. It broke 1300g at 30A on the 5x4x3 and 1600 grams at only 35A on the  KingKong 6x4.  Compared to the insanely power hungry F60 2450kv, this motor is both lighter and draws a good deal less current for a resonable amount of thrust, loosing about 100g of thrust for about 4.5A gain in current draw at 100% throttle. That gets even more interesting when you compare 50% throttle, where the Tornado 2206 actually has higher output at less amps than the F60 motor on equivalent props.  Given that this is where the motor is likely to spend most of it's time in flight, this is actually probably the more pertinent data.  Combined with with the lighter weight, that makes this motor a serious competitor.
