Foxeer has a long history in the FPV community making cameras, antennas, and video transmitters, but has previously not offered motors as part of their lineup. This new motor is a step into new territory for them. This motor offers all the typical ammenities, thick single wire wind, open base design, hollow hardened steel shaft with a retaining screw, tight tolerances and comes only in one high Kv model. This motor has a 4mm internal shaft and uses 4x9x4 bearings to retain the shaft. The stator size at 2206 is a bit smaller than many of the recent motors to come across the bench, but the weight stays low at just under 29g, keeping it on part with the lighter 2206 motors and below most of the 2207 and 2306 offerings on the market. The only real complaint I have with this motor is that it sticks with the older 16x19mm mounting pattern when the majority of new motors have 16x16mm mount holes. That's a minor gripe though, and shouldn't matter much on most of the frames out there.

The Kv here tested a bit lower than stated at 2620, and combined with the lower torque of a light weight 2206, this motor has a surprisingly flexible range of applications for a high Kv motor. This motor will work well on basically any 5" prop, from light weight triblades up to the heavier 5" props. Thrust on the heavier props peaked just over 1500g, which is extremely respectable with current draw staying in the upper 30s. The 2206 will stay smoother with lower peak current. It won't have the snap and aggression of 2207 or 2306 motors but still provides good power and an excellent power to weight ratio. This is a smart motor for a first offering from Foxeer, appealing to a broad range of pilots, flying styles, and applications without making unecessary sacrifices.
