I've had a few LDPower motors come across my bench for testing thanks to various vendors, but this is the first motor LDPower has sent me directly for feedback.  Their other motors have all done quite well, though some physical design issues hindered my full recommendation.  These motors however really surprised me.  LDPower has stepped up their entire game here with some really great features.  The physical design is quite interesting.  There are alternating rotation motors with active cooling that actually takes advantage of the direction of rotation.  This is one of the first motors I've seen that uses that technique, and while some may find it less than ideal to worry about which motor goes where, it is likely to be effective in the air.  The new design also incorporates a hardened steel hollow shaft design, 5mm external and 4mm internal diameter held in place with standard E-clip. It uses arc magnets and thick single wire windings.  Also this motor uses a PCB rather than wires.  The set of motors comes with wires for each motor, just in case your ESCs also came with solder pads, which is a nice touch.  The real innovation here though, is at the top of the bell, just below the prop shaft. These motors have a hex shaped rise against which the props are pressed when the prop nut is tightened down.  The motors come with a thin hex wrench that fits exactly between the prop and the bell and holds the bell in place while tightening and loosening props.  This design is brilliant, and I can tell you it made a massive difference in changing props during the test sequence.  The other benefit is that if you get a prop hub that is really stuck on the shaft from a crash or similar abuse, the wrench can be use to lever the hub of.  Gone are the days of nightmares attempting to get a bladeless prop hub off the shaft after a crash!  In terms of the rest of the build quality, the machining is excellent, the air gap is extremely tight, and there was no play in the motor before or after the test sequence.  A very solid design from LDPower!

Test Results

I was very curious to see how this motor would preform after seeing some of the other 2305s that have come across the bench.  The interesting thing here is that this motor appears to be a bit lower KV than some of the others, coming in at approximately 2250kv.  As with some of the other 2300 class motors that have tested at lower KV, this one ends up with a bit less thrust than some of the other 2300kv class motors that test at higher KV.  Unforutnately, because the 23mm stator diameter drives up current draw a bit, the current is still roughly equivalent to other 2205 motors.  That being said performance is still on par with many of the N52 class 2205 motors of equivalent KV, and response times are solid. It still manages to pull 1400g on the 6x4, which is quite impressive! Other than that no real surprises here. A very solid performance from a very solid motor.
