Summary
The BR1106 seems to be a fairly run-of-the-mill 1106 sized motor, even if lacking a little bit in power. It gets a nice spread of efficiency covering the most important portions of the power band. Like most in this class it matches well with a light 3" or heavy 2.5" prop load, with light 2.5" and heavy 2" prop loads being a little too light to make best use of the efficiency of the motor, and light 2" prop loads falling well below the motors peak efficiency zone. A heavy 3" prop will probably only take about a 20% efficiency hit compared to a better matched load, but thermally it seems to handle heavier loads reasonably well on the bench. It's slightly lower KV puts it at a bit of a disadvantage compared to other motors of this size in terms of delivering peak thrust, but that brings along with it the decrease in peak current draw that you would expect as well.
